This past week, two of our Project Ecologists have been salvaging and recycling hollows at a Wind Farm in the Upper Lachlan LGA.

Narla Environmental’s Project Ecologists are accredited and experienced at using both chainsaws and Elevated Work Platforms (EWP) for all hollow salvage/installation works on our projects.

Loss of hollow-bearing trees is listed as a Key Threatening Process (KTP) under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. The loss of hollows and hollow-bearing trees has a detrimental impact on countless threatened fauna species across Australia. The use of salvaged hollows is an initiative currently in practice across New South Wales attempting to maintain our precious, natural hollows.

To determine the success of this hollow salvage and installation, Narla will annually monitor the occupants and conditions of each hollow.
