Narla’s experienced and accredited biodiversity assessors conducted a Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) in the Southern Tablelands, NSW. BDARs are official documents that identify how a developer proposes to avoid, minimise, and offset the impacts from a proposed development upon native vegetation or biodiversity listed under the New South Wales Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and the Biodiversity Regulation 2017.
During the site assessment, Narla ecologists encountered the Scarlet Robin (Petroica boodang), a vulnerable species in NSW. This little bird has a bright scarlet-red chest and is threatened by habitat clearing and modification, exotic weed infestation, predation, and competitive exclusion by other birds.
